Year 2 Curriculum Overview
The Year 2 Curriculum Overview at Elizabeth Selby Infant School outlines a broad and balanced programme of learning across all areas of the National Curriculum. It builds on skills developed in Year 1 and supports children in becoming confident, independent learners as they prepare for Key Stage 2.
The curriculum includes core subjects such as English, Maths and Science, alongside foundation subjects including History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology, Computing, Music, Religious Education and PE. Learning is delivered through engaging topics and meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, deeper thinking and a love of learning.
There is a continued strong focus on developing fluency in reading, writing and mathematics, as well as building knowledge and skills across all subject areas in a structured and progressive way.
