Key Stage 1
At Elizabeth Selby Infant School, we are proud of the achievements and progress our children make by the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2). Our curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that all pupils build strong foundations in reading, writing, mathematics, and the wider curriculum.
Children are supported through high-quality teaching, targeted intervention where needed, and a rich learning environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and a love of learning. We aim for all pupils to achieve their full potential, regardless of starting points.
We closely monitor progress throughout Key Stage 1 to ensure that children are challenged appropriately and receive the right support at the right time. This enables them to leave Year 2 as confident, capable learners, well prepared for the next stage of their education.
Our results reflect the hard work of pupils, staff, and families working in partnership to support children’s success.
